I then took a Clarity Stamp stencil ‘clockwork’ and inked through it with black soot distress ink onto the canvas. I also love old books and stamping onto them. The one I used is a joiners handbook, again purchased from a car boot sale for 50p. I then stamped onto the pages with distress ink in black soot and heat set with WOW clear embossing powder. I coloured the stamped images with watercolour paints, then when dry cut them out and glued them onto the canvas, covering the face with the bird in a tree and the flowers. The stamp sets I used are Stampers Anonymous- ‘Classic Favourites 5’ Heartfelt Creations- ‘Melodious Songbird’ and ‘Easter Lilies’ and PaperArtsy- ‘Jofy 09’ Some of them you can purchase from the Country View Crafts Shop.
The word NATURE is a mixture of chipboard letters from different alphabet left overs. I inked the letters using versamark and added WOW blue topaz embossing powder and heat set. Over the top of this I coloured the letters with a brown promarker which gave them a ‘natural’ look and feel.
