Love at Christmas….

Hi Everyone
Over at Stampotique this week is ‘Early Chirstmas’
I hadn’t used the triple embossing technique for a while, and as I was rummaging through my really old Sizzix dies, I came across ‘primitive hearts.  Idea!!
I started with a 5 x 5 card, then looked at my scraps of paper.  One of them was an old packaging label with writing on so I recycled this and cut it down.  Next I got a piece of vellum, and stamped the hanging hearts onto it at the top in Versamark and heat set with WOW gold pearl embossing powder.
I then die cut the hearts in stiff cardboard ( old packaging) and used the triple embossing powder effect on it, mixing WOW ebony black, apple red and gold pearl embossing powders.  I had ready, Daniel’s hearts stamp, covered in Black Stazon, then whilst the embossing powder was hot and moulten, I stamped into it with the hearts.  The most important part of this is to LEAVE the stamp in the embossing powder whilst it cools off.  Then you can remove it.  What is left is a deep impression.
I then wrapped some thin wire around the hearts and curled the wire with a pencil.  The word ‘love’  is Stampotique which I stamped out onto paper, then scanned into my computer.  I then printed it out slightly bigger than normal onto thick card, cut the letters out and used versamark, WOW sparkling snow and gold pearl embossing powder on it, to give it a grungy feel.
I then added Ranger white enamel to the tops of the letters, hearts and hearts on the string to give a little ‘snowy’ feel.
The vellum is secured by brads.
Have a great week end.
Sue

  1. You have reminded me with your lovely project what a satisfying technique this is Susan – so agree too about leaving the stamp to cool :)
