There are new challenges ahead with Penny Black stamps. J & C Creations are sponsoring the Penny Black Saturday Challenge where you can win £10 gift voucher. Today I have made a 6 x 6 card using stamps from J & C Creations ‘trims’ and a Sizzix die from Tim Holtz ‘gaget gears’. The inscription is ‘wishes’ from Penny Black and the background uses the new summer distress inks.
Other items used are a cog mask inked up with Versamark and put thorough a big shot then sprinkled with WOW white fine embossing powder, then heat set . The curvy lines, leaves and flowers are inked up with Versamark and sprinkles with WOW ebony fine embossing powder then heat set. I then stamped out in Stazon black the flowers onto silver craft metal and used the lines stamp over the top. I then used alcohol inks in pink and purple, then used a large headed embossing tool to fan out the petals from the back, adding beadazzle beads in the centre with glossy accents. The back of the metal was filled in with light polyfiller to stop the flowers going flat. The flower in the top right was stamped onto coloured cardstock and cut out. A further flower was stamped out onto studio 490 ‘clearly for art’ and glued over the top. Once dry you can heat it and manipulate the flower any way you wish. I placed this in an oversized metal bottle top. I stamped the curvy lines onto vellum and tore the vellum down each side, fixing this to the front of the card with pink pearl brads. The sentiment was cut out with an oval scallop edge spellbinder, inked and attached over a piece of burgundy ribbon. The leaves are placed behind the bottle top.
